WHY TOKYO, JAPAN?
Last year I was awarded a Fulbright Graduate Research Fellowship to pursue personal design work, and explore my interest in contemporary Tokyo visual culture. Much of my time was spent "gathering": documenting daily life in illustrations and writing, collecting printed ephemera, and talking to local designers. I also had the opportunity to work with Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo on several projects in the summer months.
This year-long journey brought unexpected adventures, new insights and life-long friendships. Now back in the U.S., I am still in the process of giving visual form to this unique experience. Please stay tuned for more!
