PLAYSTATION PLAYFACE MEDIA BOOKLET

The W+K Tokyo Playface campaign featured the faces of Japanese gamers while playing Sony Playstation. Originally intended for motion-based media, the challenge in creating print ads was to capture the same degree of emotion in a single frame, while also introducing Japanese audiences to the Playstation identity: Triangle, Circle, X, Square.

Beginning with the design of the press booklet, I focused on editing photos for variation and sequence, and on arranging dynamic portrait pairings. A spread in the opening pages, which matched four faces/personalities with the four symbols, was adopted as the direction for the out of home print campaign. This consisted of serial posters in the major train stations, event space graphics and magazine ads.
