Sakura

I’ve always heard people talk about the cherry blossom craze in Japan, but didn’t really understand what the big deal was until experiencing it firsthand. Aside from the fun outdoor drinking parties all week (hanami), the blossoms are arrestingly beautiful. And the fact that they are here and gone within a two-week period encourages one to spend as much time walking around outside as possible. I really enjoyed people watching at Yoyogi Park last Sunday, but my favorite spot is definitely the tree-lined river in Naka-meguro. Now the petals have started to fall and the water is spotted with light pink dots flowing downstream. Love!
